Mahrukh
Mahrukh Umrigar – Conference Chair is a co-founding partner of Consortia Legal and heads the firm’s global mobility practice.
Spending splitting her time between in London, UK, and Mumbai, India, she also co-heads the firm’s employment and private client practices.
With over fifteen years of experience, Mahrukh has advised numerous global multinationals, relocation companies, accountancy and law firms, and various other service providers on their day-to-day Indian immigration and mobility requirements. Covering end-to-end immigration services from pre-arrival strategy and visa advice to post-arrival compliances and in-country matters, Mahrukh is recognised for providing concise and practical solutions to her clients and business contacts in a timely and cost-effective manner. She is a member of the paradiGM community, International Bar Association, EuRA and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (GMS).
Mahrukh is regular speaker at international seminars and conferences and speaks on an array of topics covering different aspects of business and family immigration, diversity, equity and inclusion, employment laws and HR best practices. She has been recognised as one of the world’s leading practitioners in the Who’s Who Legal: Corporate Immigration 2025/2026 (now Lexology) report for Corporate Immigration, India.
Kirsten
Kirsten Thornton Vice-Chair is Client Services Director at BiCortex Languages and Translations, where she works across both strategy and operations by overseeing client relationships and operational delivery.
Before joining BiCortex in 2023, Kirsten’s career spanned criminal law, politics, and the third sector. Throughout these roles, she developed a strong commitment to fairness, transparency, and helping people navigate complex challenges. Driven by a desire to advocate for those whose voices are often overlooked, she brings curiosity, empathy, and a keen attention to detail to her work. She particularly enjoys working in an international environment, building relationships across cultures and learning from the diverse perspectives that come with a global community.
Originally from Scotland, Kirsten moved to Spain in 2020 in search of a different pace of life and a little more sunshine. A passionate advocate for animal welfare and rescue work, she now shares her home with five rescue dogs and outside of work, she can often be found exploring nearby beaches and countryside walks with them, making the most of the Spanish sunshine. Her love of animals has become a defining part of her life in Spain, where she enjoys giving rescued dogs a second chance and helping them thrive.
Mia
Mia Giacomazzo – Immediate Past Conference Chair
Mia Giacomazzi is the founder and managing attorney of Denizen Immigration, a U.S.-based immigration and global mobility law firm that serves individuals and businesses around the world. With over 20 years of experience in U.S. immigration law, Mia specializes in employment-based immigration, cross-border strategy, and compliance, with a particular focus on H-2B, H-1B, PERM, and family-based cases.1
Mia is passionate about building community in the legal profession and creating inclusive spaces where people from all countries and career stages can grow. As Chair of the 2026 ParadiGM Conference in Krakow, she is leading efforts to design a program that inspires meaningful connections, supports young professionals, and gives back through a shared charitable mission.
Originally from the U.S., Mia now lives in the Netherlands with her family. When she’s not lawyering or organizing conferences, you can often find her walking her dog through the trees in Amsterdam, listening to birdsong and identifying local species by their calls.
Michal
Michał Kacprzyk Partner, Head of Immigration and Global Mobility Practice at Raczkowski, JD, LLM. Michał specialises in all aspects of employing foreign nationals in Poland. He also advises on international employee mobility and complex corporate immigration matters at all stages of workforce planning and hiring, as well as on the posting of workers to provide services abroad.
His expertise covers the full range of cross-border HR issues. Michał has built one of the largest immigration and global mobility teams operating within a law firm in Poland and is regularly recommended by international legal rankings as a leading practitioner.
He is a frequent author of articles published in national daily newspapers and academic journals.
Ashley
Ashley VanOothegem is a Global Practice Manager with WR Global.
She assists clients with obtaining work and business visas and residence permits in dozens of countries worldwide, but has a particular focus on Australian, Canadian, German and Singaporean immigration matters.
Ashley frequently works with companies in the technology and services sectors, including both Fortune 500 companies and innovative start-ups.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Law Studies from Michigan State University.
Eduardo
Eduardo Silva is the Managing Director of Lex Documents, a global provider of visa, consular, and corporate documentation services supporting international mobility and cross-border business operations.
With more than 20 years of experience, Eduardo works with multinational companies, law firms, and global mobility providers to navigate complex document procurement, legalisation, apostille, and consular processes across multiple jurisdictions.
His focus is on helping organisations reduce administrative friction, remain compliant, and move people and business processes across borders efficiently. Passionate about building long-term partnerships, Eduardo combines practical operational expertise with a client-focused approach to deliver reliable solutions in an increasingly global environment.
Daniel
Daniel Parisi (local host) is the founder of DJP Immigration in Madrid, Spain.
He has practiced US immigration law since 2003, with a focus is on consular law and inadmissibility to the US based on criminal or immigration law violations.
Daniel speaks on consular practice for many international organizations and has authored numerous publications on this topic.
Daniel has been an Elected Director of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), has been serving for 12 years on AILA’s Department of State Liaison Committee, which he chaired for two years. He is an active member of AILA’s overseas chapters and is a Past Chair of AILA’s EMEA Chapter, has served AILA’s Global Migration Section as a member of its steering committee and has been a member of AILA’s LGBTQ+ Interest Group. He was the Vice-Chair of AILA’s DEI Committee, served on AILA’s Client Resources Committee and is a past chair of AILA’s Law Student Engagement Committee.
Daniel is currently a Fellow of the Center for International Legal Studies and a Local Host for ParadiGM’s 2027 Annual Conference in Madrid.
Ana
Ana Garicano Solé (local host) is a partner at Sagardoy Abogados and Managing Partner at Sagardoy Legal & Expat.
As Attorney-at-law, she has a large experience over 20 years in the global mobility field. She has been contributing to several publications on Immigration Law and she lectured at Spanish universities and renowned business schools.
Ana is a regular speaker at national and international conferences in immigration field. She is an active member of the FEEX, the Spanish Association for International Labor Mobility, participating in the discussions with the immigration authorities for the preparation and implementation of the Spanish regulation on immigration.
At the international level, she is a member of the International Bar Association and of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She has been appointed by the firm to participate at the Informal Expert Group on Economic Migration at the European Commission where she is member since 2015.
Ana is recognized as a Global Elite Thought Leader 2024 by Lexology, nominated as the “Lawyer of the Year” for the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers and as one of the 100 most influential women in Spain as selected by the magazine Forbes.
Currently, she is managing a team of over 40 professionals focused on all legal aspects related to global mobility, assessing a large variety of clients, ranging from multinational companies, SMEs, start-ups to private clients, investors, among others.
Mounia
Mounia Jrabi (local host) is currently the Executive Immigration Practice Leader at Sagardoy Legal Expat, a well-established law firm, with a team of 40 professionals. She plays a key role in the strategic development of the firm’s Immigration practice. Since beginning her career in immigration law in 2003, she has accumulated extensive experience advising private clients, multinational corporations, and international assignees on Spanish immigration matters.
She possesses in-depth knowledge of Spanish immigration regulations and procedures and has successfully managed a wide range of inbound immigration projects, including large-scale corporate mobility programs. Beyond her technical expertise, she actively contributes to the firm’s strategic initiatives, participating in the definition and implementation of business development plans, client growth strategies, service innovation projects, and the overall expansion and positioning of the Immigration practice within the market.
Throughout her career, she has participated in immigration conferences, industry forums, and professional associations, sharing her expertise on immigration law developments, global mobility trends, and best practices in international workforce management.
